Chiltern Trains - Haddenham & Thame Station Minimize

The purpose of the projectwas to provide a new cable route from the mains cubicle location to the station building as there was no existing duct route.

Scope of the work:

The area to be excavated was CAT scanned and the appropriate paperwork filled in and any restrictions noted on the Permit to Dig.

The area was then excavated in accordance with the Permit to Dig.

150mm layer of sharp sand was laid in the excavated trench and a 4 inch duct was then laid on the sand and covered with 150mm of sharp sand. A draw wire was installed into the new duct prior to back filling.

The excavation was then half back filled and cable warning tape laid. Then trench was then fully back filled and as it was rough open ground, any remnant spoil was spread in the surrounding area.

Large stones were all removed from site and disposed of safely.

Installation of new sub-main feeds and associated switch gear was then carried out as follows.

Replacement of existing 3 phase distribution board in mains room adjacent to ticket office with a new 3phase 16way Square D distribution board complete with monitoring kit KQ250MET to monitor the 3 phase supply to the station building in line with L2 regulations.
Modifications to the existing installation and wiring to allow the removal of the existing 2 single phase boards that have been installed in a poor manner.  These to be rewired to the new distribution board.
Installation of a new 20A / 32A 3phase supply to the tenants unit.  This to be determined following initial design and load readings.
Provision of new distribution board located in the tenants unit separately metered and circuits wired back to this board.
Installation of new sub mains feed to the station building, platform lighting DB and tenants unit.
As fitted layout drawings and schematics and production of O&M manual
